High Street Streetscape Improvements Urban Infrastructure Recovery Funds (UIRF) State of Ohio Capital Dollars
Location: High Street between Arcadia and Torrence High Street High Street
Dollars Allocated: $2.8 Million (original estimate) $580,000 $150,000
Funding: City capital improvement dollars and assessments to property owners with frontage in improvements improvements area. City pays $2; property owners pay $1. UIRF are city capital dollars available on a competitive application basis. Applications were accepted in 2001. City sets application dates and rules. State Capital Budget Funds requested by former state representative, David Robinson.
Improvements included: New curbs, sidewalks, tree plantings, 9 pedestrian nodes with seating, traffic signals on mast arms and streetlights. Discussion is underway with the city to make final determination. New bus shelters, mast arms and banners to attach to streetlights on west side of High Street.
Improvements not included: Relocation of utilities to alleys.
